The Windy City Hustlers

The first team of the SG CFL (Seasoned Gamers Call of Duty Franchise League), that I did a logo for, were the Windy City Hustlers. Team captain for the Windy City Hustlers is Coldsteel out of the Chicago area. With some guidance from Coldsteel, as to the general theme and feeling that he wants with the logo and banner design, we hit the ground running.

For the logo, he was looking for something old time gangster related. We had some larger plans and were looking for something a little more complicated, but as it turns out, that didn't make for a great logo. What we had to do was to breakdown the feeling and concept to the very basic. After a few prototypes, the following is the final result:

As for the banner, that was much easier to come up with. Once we had a look and a feel for the logo, the team banner just fell into place. Adding in the color feel and some local Chicago scenery, we were able to produce the following.

It was a blast to work with this logo and it was even better that the team was so receptive and appreciative of it. Seeing as it changed so much from the origional concept, I think it turned out mulitudes better than we could have hoped for. Actually, the Windy City Hustlers were so generous, they ended up picking me up some of their newly formed team swag and shipped me out a beer stein. So, in full tribute fashion, I sent them back the following pic.

Thank you Windy City Hustlers, and the best of luck to you in your games this season!
